The Unforgettable Birthday
By: Meioh

“Hey! Happy Birthday Trunks!” Goten came into Capsule Corp. with his father, non-other than Son Goku.
“’Bout time you got here! Mom is still making me greet guests though… come on! If I have to you have to!” Trunks grabbed his best friend to the door to meet any other people who came.
“Hey Trunks! Would you or your friend like some tea?” Trunks’ grandmother came to see how they were doing. Goten and Trunks turned blue.
“No thanks,” Trunks and Goten sighed as she left.
“Your grand-ma scares me, how can you live with her?”
“I really don’t know…” Trunks’ thought were distracted. The only other people scheduled to be there came, Krillin and family.
“Hey Krillin-san! Come on in!” with that, Trunks grabbed Goten yet again and the two left right in Krillin’s face.
“O-kay…” Juuhachi-gou said looking at where the two boys stood. They invited themselves in and went to where the majority of the guests were.
Vegeta and Piccolo mumbling, Bulma, Videl, Gohan and Goku talking, and a bunch of other people Trunks didn’t even know were there.
 “Bor-r-r-ing…” Goten grumbled.
“Hey, let’s go to the clubhouse!” Trunks said.
 “Yea!”

-----------------

‘Great. The grown-ups just talk and talk and talk… how boring.’ Marron was sitting on her father’s lap, playing around with her hair. Soon she couldn’t take it anymore. She hopped out of her fathers’ lap, who didn’t seem to notice, and went out of the room into the hallway.
Gathering up her courage, Marron decided to explore the huge building where there was a party. After a long time, or so it was to Marron, she was lost. She walked around some more, but it was no use. She wanted to cry but heard noises. Instead of letting tears flow down her face, Marron followed the sound to a door that led outside. She crept out to see nothing but trees. She still heard laughter and talking, so she went up to one of the trees to see if she could find out where it was coming from. She heard it, from the top of a particularly tall tree. She looked up at it. It was huge… bigger than Piccolo-san! The sounds sounded like kids her age, (which was 5) so she decided she would see if they would play with her. There was one problem- how would she get up there? She didn’t like heights much…and there was no ladder to climb up on to. They kids started to laugh again. Marron decided she wanted to play with other kids and she would get to them no matter what. Just… don’t look down…
She found a hand rest next to one of the bark pieces, and found another. She hoisted her feet up and continued the process. When she neared the top, she was scared out of her mind- too scared to notice that the two voices were only Goten and Trunks. When she reached the top, no one knows how long later, she was exhausted. There was a hidden tree house in the leaves of the tree. When Marron grabbed onto the wooden deck, she got two splinters. She tried to get to tiny, sharp needle-like twigs out, but to no avail with her small, still a bit chubby fingers. Goten and Trunks soon were aware of her presence.
“How’d she get up here? I didn’t know Krillin-san’s kid could fly…” Goten thought aloud.
“She can’t. As a matter of fact, she’s scared of heights.” Trunks said, walking up to Marron whom was too busy with splinters to really notice.
“Hey, can’t you read? It says, ‘No girls aloud!’” Trunks said in her face. Marron looked up.
“Really? I can’t read! Thanks anyway! Hey! Do you wanna play with me?” Her eyes pleaded.
“Ew! With you? No!” Trunks was disgusted.
“Hmph,” Marron put her hands on her hips and lifted her head up a bit. “I’m stuck here because it’s YOUR birthday- the least you can do is let me play with you! I’m all the way up here anyway,” she retorted.
“C’mon Trunks, it’d be fun…” Goten suddenly spoke up. Trunks snorted.
“I never asked for you to come. Go away.” Trunks wanted to kick her off the tree. Just then, Goten grabbed him and whispered in his ear.
“Think about it! Come on! She’s obviously desperate to do something, anything…” he let it hang there. Trunks smiled.
“I see…” he then went to Marron. “Okay Marron, we’ll let you play with us,” he said slyly.
“Really?” Marron was surprised, she thought she would end up having to go back to the grown-ups.
“Yea, sure, why not? Follow us.” Trunks motioned for Goten to fly to the ground while trying to hide an evil grin. The two went down and left Marron on the top. She looked down and got dizzy.
“Hey, how am I supposed to get down there?” she had her eyes closed.
“The way you got up, of course. Come on! Unless you’re a baby!” Goten teased.
“Umm…” Marron was scared to death of heights.
&Nbsp;“Baby…Baby…”Goten and Trunks taunted together in a perfectly synchronized chorus.
“Okay…” she didn’t want to do it…She started down. Her feet first were secured tightly, and then she put a foot down, and got to a point where her arms were also hanging on a sturdy part of the tree. She stumbled close calls a lot, but seemed to be doing okay.
 ‘Pathetic’ Trunks thought.
Goten and Trunks did their best not too laugh too hard, but they couldn’t help it. A five-year-old girl who couldn’t even fly was going down a tree the hard way with her eyes sealed shut. How pitiful.
“Stop laughi- ahh!” Marron completely lost concentration when turning her head saying not to laugh that she fell down.
“Phew…” Trunks caught Marron easily, but was glad she wasn’t hurt. Goten looked to see Trunks levitating a couple inches above the ground holding Marron by her waist. Then he just started laughing even harder than before, making his lungs ache immensely. His best friend ‘Birthday Boy’ was carrying the stupid annoying baby. “How ::laughs:: C-::laughs some more:: Cute!” He couldn’t stop. “Trunks and ::laugh:: Marron ::laugh:: sitting in a tree ::laughing some more::” Trunks looked down. He didn’t like what position this ended up in. He then dropped her about two-feet above the ground.
Before Goten could say ‘K-I-S-S-I-N-G’ Trunks was SSJ and ready to fight it off. Goten met his match and the two began to fight. Marron was whipping dirt off her red dress and grunted.
“That hurt a lot! Boys!” she wanted to leave, but had no where else to go. She decided to watch the two fight out something about a tree. She sat resting under the cool shade of the tree. Her red hat that she wore was used as her pillow and she laid her head down. After 15 minutes or so of Trunks and Goten fighting, the two gave up. They were pretty beat.
“That was your birthday present, Trunks. Happy 10’th Birthday.” Goten wheezed.
“What do you mean that was my present?”
“Well, I never bothered to get you one…” Goten admitted with a Goku face.
“Why you…” Trunks suddenly felt a surge of playful energy and shot a bast to Goten before getting out of SSJ form.
“Hey!” Goten protested but changed out of SSJ as well. The two finally looked at Marron, whom was covered in dirt from the blast.
“Aw man! Look at her! She’s a mess!” Goten mused aloud.
“You’re not much better, Goten” Trunks pointed out, barely noticing he was standing up for a ‘baby.’
“Oh no! Mom’s going to kill me!” Goten freaked as he looked down and his ripped and dirty outfit his mother bought for him for special occasions.
“Aha!” Trunks got another good laugh. Marron looked at herself- her arms, legs; even her dress was all dirty.  “Hey, kiss our ass kid. We’re leaving.” Goten said rather meanly and started to flow off in the air.
‘What’s an ‘ass?’ Marron thought. She said, “That’s okay! I’d rather not kiss anything!”
Trunks and Goten flew off to Marron didn’t know where.
“Meanies…” Marron said aloud while looking for someplace to clean up. She soon found a fountain, and cleaned up to a point where her parents wouldn’t notice.

“Happy Birthday to you… Happy Birthday to you…” everyone was singing happy birthday for Trunks,(well, not Piccolo and Vegeta) wuth the cake was in front of him. Goten’s mother made it, a whopping 3 foot long, 6 inch deep chocolate cake. Trunks heard his mother once complaining about how much Saiy-jin eat and how it was disgusting. He didn’t see anything wrong with it.
“Okay Trunks, blow out the candles while I take the picture,” his mother said holding up a camera. Trunks blew out the candles, and that slit second Bulma got the picture, but when it came out, all that was there was a couple crumbs of cake.
“That was a good cake!” Goku said rubbing his stomach and whipping off crumbs.
Everyone agreed, except Bulma, Videl, Juuhachi-gou, and Piccolo, whom didn’t get a piece.
 “I wasn’t too hungry anyway…” Juuhachi-gou said rather disgusted.
“You’re lucky you don’t live with a Saiy-jin.” Videl commented.
“I still can’t find Marron you guys, have you seen her?” Krillin came in a few moments later from his search for Marron.
“What?!” Juuhachi-gou now was worried about her daughter.
“I’ll find her you guys, don’t worry. It’s my house, I know it better than anything.” Bulma insured the couple. She then left.
Trunks overheard this.
‘I wonder where she is now… stupid baby can’t even find her way back’ he then belched.

-----------------

“This is a big house…” Marron thought, she looked around. Her legs hurt a lot, and no one was in sight. She decided she would take a nap in the next room she came about to.
Pushing the tall white door open, Marron tiptoed into a large blue room. It had posters around, and music was left blasted, unattended. She shrugged the music she could live with. It was what her mother listened to all the time, she called it “rock.” Marron got on the bed, which was HUGE and VERY soft. She was asleep immediately.

-----------------

“Bye bye!” Trunks was forced by his mother to bade everyone farewell. Finally, everyone was gone except for Goten and his dad.
“I wish my mom would let me stay over…” Goten mumbled.
“Bye Son-kun!” Bulma gave Goku a hug before he left.
“Come on Goten. Did you thank Bulma for buying you a new outfit so ChiChi doesn’t know you messed up the real one?” Goku smiled.
“Thank you Bulma-san!” Goten said sweetly and politely.
“No problem Goten, any time.” Bulma said before leaving to Krillin’s call.
“Man… oh well, bye!” Trunks waved at the door then left.
“You still can’t find her?” Krillin was completely worried.
“Come on, this is ridicules. Let’s find her ourselves, these camera’s must not work…” Bulma was getting a little nervous.
“Right. I want my daughter in my arms soon…” Juuhachi-gou admitted.
“Trunks- to bed with you. Now.” Trunks wanted to protest but the look on his mothers face had it over.
“Okay mom…”Trunks started to wonder where Marron went anyway. ‘Probably crying like a weak, wimpy baby like her would,’ he thought.

-----------------

::yawn:: “I guess I’m a little tired…” Trunk murmured. He didn’t even bother putting on the lights to his room. He found his way to the stereo, which was on and went straight for the bed. What he found was least expected.

“What the…?”he got up from the lump that was on hit bed. He turned on the light.
“Marron?” he looked at her disgustingly. ‘What is she doing in MY room?’ he was about to pick her up by her hair and bring her to her mom, Krillin-san and Juuhachi-gou-san, but he stepped closer and decided against it.
She was curled up in a ball, sleeping soundly despite the fact that she was five.
“Whatever…” Trunks just turned the lights off again, got into the covers and tried to sleep. Something was shaking. He looked up. Marron was cold.
“Oh come on…” Trunks’ conscience got the best of him. He carefully picked her up and set her next to where he was and put some covers on her.
“Good riddance…” Trunks soon was asleep after a couple minutes or so. Marron woke up. It was so dark, she couldn’t see. Assuming she was at home, she reached for her teddy bear. A thought passed her mind at how the bear seemed larger than usual, but she was too tired to car.e She snuggled with it and fell fast asleep again.

-----------------

“I don’t believe this.” Bulma was embarrassed at how this could happen. “Let me check on Trunks and we’ll finish this.”
“Yea…” Juuhachi-gou and Krillin were very upset on where their daughter was. A couple minutes later Bulma came back motioning them to come with her and keep quiet.
“Okay…” Juuhachi-gou and Krillin followed, and were led to Trunks’ room. What they found in there was astonishing.
“How cute…” Krillin smiled at his daughter. Juuhachi-gou had a small grin in too.
“I don’t want to separate them…” Bulma said sweetly.
Marron and Trunks were hugging each other on his bed and sleeping like little children.
