Chapter 4: Conrad?

“What do you mean?” She started to turn, but Bra grabbed her shoulders and made Marron face her.
“What’s wrong with you, Bra?”

“I said ‘do NOT look behind you’!”

“What’s behind me that I’m not supposed to look at?”

“It’s Conrad,” Bra said softly.

“NANI?” Marron’s ex-boyfriend was right behind her! Conrad had dumped her so many times, that
one day Marron decided she couldn’t take it anymore and just stopped talking to him and seeing him
all together. “Bra, we have to leave!” Marron said in a panic.

“Okay, I’ll lead you out and come back here to wait for the boys.”

“Okay.”

Bra started to stand up but, then, Conrad turned around and saw her.

“Hey, Bra! Have you seen Marron lately?” he asked not noticing Marron ducking her head down
behind the booth seat.

“Nope! I haven’t seen her in a while!” she exclaimed quickly.

“You sure?” he asked suspiciously.

“Yep!”

“Okay. If you see her tell her I miss her,” he said. He, then, turned his attention back to his friends.

“Okay, I sure will!” Bra said. Panicked, she grabbed Marron and ran out of the store.

“That…was…a CLOSE one!” Marron said, so panicked she could barely breathe, let alone speak.

“I got you out of there. Didn’t I?” Bra said, proud that she helped her friend out.

“Yea. Thanks, Bra!” Marron replied smiling.

“No problem! Anything for a friend.”

The two smiled at each other.

“Hey! What are you guys doing out here?” Trunks said walking out of the store with Goten behind him.
“You left me with the bill!”

“Sorry, Oniichan! But, Marron had to get a way from Conrad,” Bra said looking at her brother.

“Who’s Conrad?”

“Marron’s ex.”

“MARRON WAS MARRIED?” the two boys exclaimed at the reply.

Bra looked at Marron, who was looking at her. The two sighed.

“Not Marron’s ex-husband. Marron’s ex-boyfriend!” she said looking at the boys.

“Oh…” the two said in unison.

“Well, that makes more sense!” Trunks said with a smile.

“You guys are hopeless!” Bra gave a shrug. “Hey, Trunks! I’ve got an idea! How about we go to the
park?”

“Well, I promised Okaasan to bring you guys back at around 6:00 and it’s…” Trunks looked down at
his watch. “Sweet Dende! IT’S 6:05! IN THE CAR, GET IN THE CAR RIGHT NOW!” he
exclaimed, panicked.

“Don’t worry, Trunks. I don’t think your mom will mind if we’re 5 minutes late,” Goten said trying to
calm his friend down.

“I SAID ‘GET IN THE CAR’!” He grabbed Goten and ran to the car. Bra and Marron ran into the
car, too scared to argue.

“Why is Trunks in a panic, Bra?” Marron asked looking at her.

“You would be in a panic, too, if you saw the way Okaasan gets when we’re late!” Bra said, panicked
herself.

“But, we’re only 5 minutes late,” Marron said while Trunks drove as fast as he could to the house, still
trying to drive the speed limit though.

“The amount of time we’re late doesn’t matter to Kaasan!”

They, finally, make it to the house, where they find an angry mother waiting at the end of the driveway.
“Trunks, I need to talk to you…”

“But, Okaasan! Bra took so long in the mall and the dressing rooms…”

“Don’t blame this on your sister! It was your responsibility to bring them home on time!”

“But, I just lost track of time!”

“Don’t ‘but’ me, young man!”

“But…”

“No! You had the responsibility! So, you have to take the blame!”

“But…” Trunks stopped knowing that it’ll get him no where. He gave a sigh. “Okay, Okaasan. It’ll
never happen, again.”

“Good. That’s what I wanted to hear,” she said smiling at her grown up boy. “Now go eat. Your
dinner’s probably getting cold.”

Trunks walked out to the dinning room, where everyone was sitting and eating. They all looked up at
him, except for Vegeta, who was too busy eating to care about his wife and son’s little argument.
Trunks just sighed and sat down beside Goten, knowing he lost the battle with his mom.

Goten looked at Trunks with a sympathetic look. Trunks was looking down and playing with his food.
Goten figured it would pass so, he started to gabble up on his dinner.

“How are things with your parents, Marron?” Bulma asked trying to make a conversation at the table.
She hadn’t talked to Krillin or 18 in a long time so she was concerned.

“Oh, they’re fine. I haven’t really seen them as much as I did, because I moved out, but last time I saw
them they were okay.”

“Well, that’s good.”

“Marron, you moved out?” Trunks asked, confused.

“Yea. I told you that about two months ago.”

“Oh, yea. You did. Heh.” Trunks started to blush at his stupidity.

Everyone continued to eat, silently. When they finished everyone thanked Bulma for the cooking and
went upstairs. Vegeta and Bulma stayed in the kitchen to talk about the gravitational chamber.

“Woman! I didn’t do anything! Why won’t you let me train?” Vegeta yelled at his wife.

“Vegeta, I think you train too much. You need a few days off from that gravity room.”

“But, WOMAN…”

“You want a few weeks off?” Bulma said cutting in with a glare.

“Err!” Vegeta stomped off losing yet another battle against his wife.

In Trunks’ room…

“Well, I guess I have to go home, now…” Goten said about to get up.

“Goten, you’re sleeping over. Remember?” Trunks said before Goten could stand up.

“Oh…right.” Goten sat back down. “So…”

“So…”

“Trunks, do you like Marron?”

“WHAT? Where did that come from?”

“I was just wondering…” Goten replied blushing that he actually asked that.

“I don’t have to answer that!”

“So, you do?”

“I didn’t say that!”

“What ever,” Goten said with an evil smile.

Trunks thought to himself. “Hey, Goten! How would you like to play a game?”

“Sure.” Goten turned to see his friend had an evil grin on his face. “What kind of game?” Goten was
afraid to ask.
