Chapter 2 "A new friend"

"Hey, your moving into 1562, right?" a voice from behind Marron asked.

She turned around, only to see an attractive man around her age, standing there. She wiped something off her lip.
"Yeah. Oh please sit down." she said, offering him the chair across from her.

He pulled the chair out and sat. "So you got a lot of stuff to move up?"

She nodded then wiped her hand and stood up. "Please forgive my course introduction. I'm Marron." She
held out her hand.

"I'm Trunks. Trunks Briefs. Your my new neighbor." He took her hand and gingerly kissed it.

"I was only expecting a hand shake, but that'll do."

They both laughed lightly.

"Really? Your my new neighbor?" she asked.

He nodded. "I was wondering if you needed some help moving the rest of your stuff up?"

"I do, but I don't want to trouble you."

"It would be no trouble. My friend and I would love to help. Plus we need something to do this weekend."

"Well since your being so generous, let me buy you something, a cappuccino? a beer?"

"No no. I need to get back." He said standing up.

"Oh please wait. May I walk home with such a charming gentleman as yourself? I fear I'll get lost."

"Sure."Trunks smiled.

Marron quickly paid for her meal and ran to meet Trunks, who was waiting outside.

"It's a lovely night, isn't it?" he asked her once she was next to him.

"Oh. It defiantly is. The new moon allows all the stars to shine so brightly."

He nodded in agreement. They walked back to the complex in total silence. Finally, Marron had to ask him a
question that had been bugging her on their entire return trip.

"Why was everyone staring at us? Is there something I need to know about you?"she inquired, raising an eyebrow.

"No. They just couldn't imagine why such a beautiful woman would be hanging out with a guy like me."

She slapped his arm lightly. "Whatever. I think it's the other way around."

They both laughed as they walked down the hall to their rooms. They said goodnight and went into their
apartments.

Marron went straight to the blinking light on her answering machine.

"Hey Marron. Kali here. Please don't break up with my brother. Sure he can be a butt but he really loves you. I
hafta go. Talk to ya later. Bye."

Marron smiled and slowly walked to her door. She had an entire plan worked out in her head. She opened the door,
not paying any attention to what was going on outside. When she looked up she jumped.

"Trunks! Oh, hi. Sorry. I was just heading over to your place."

"Really? I was just going to ask you something."

She laughed. "Yes? What is it?"

"What time do you want us to come over?"

She thought about it for a while. "Will you guys be up at 1?"

"Yup."

"Come over then. Now my turn. I was wondering if you would like to come to my party when I have it?"

"Sure. My sis would love to meet you."

"Really? Cool. I'd love to meet her."

"Ok then. Anything else?"

"Nope."

"Ok. I'll see ya later then." he waved then walked back to his place.

Marron walked into her apartment and picked up the ringing phone.

"Hello?"

"HI!!! It's me. Kali."

"So I noticed." Marron laughed, "So what can I do ya for?"

"I was wondering if you were upset about the tutor that comes over everyday."

"Bryan has a tutor? Oh yeah. No, but do you happen to know the name of this tutor?"

"I don't know. Uh.....I think it's Amanda."

"Blonde, cheerleader?"

"Yup."

"Oh....no, that's not why we aren't together. Did your brother pay you to leave that message?"

"Yup. $20."

"Good girl. Hey, I was wondering if you want to come spend time with me this weekend? I mean only if your mom
agrees with it."

"Sure! Let me go ask." Kali put the phone down and ran to ask her mom. A few minutes later she came back. "I
can't. I have a party to go to."

"Oh that's ok. I'll see you some other time, right?"

"Of course."
